September Reminders from the Road Department
It’s hard to believe with this heat that we are only a couple of weeks away from the start of Fall. With fall upon us, we have a few reminders from the Road Department.
- Please be mindful of farm equipment as they start their harvest season. Stay alert, eliminate distractions, and use extra caution around farm machinery.
- September 30th is the end of the dust control season. Beginning October 1st, per our policy, https://www.marioncountyiowa.gov/files/permits/dust_control_68005.pdf we begin regular maintenance to ensure the roads are ready for the winter season.
- Road Notifications for road closures and road work can be found at this link and you may subscribe to receive notifications here.
- Vermont drive will be closed for 3 weeks starting around September 11th between 212th Pl. and Hwy 5.
- The Army Corp of Engineers has put out a press release that Red Rock Dam will have a full closure starting September 11th for 3 weeks as well, with a detour in place.
