Marion County Park

The 140 acre “County Park” is MCCB’s oldest recreation area. Its rolling hills contain many opportunities for recreational enjoyment. A campground with 99 campsites, shower/restroom facilities, and picnic shelters provide for a summer family retreat. A 7-acre fishing lake, drained, dredged, and restocked in 2015, provides an excellent location to fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. Picnic areas with playground equipment, flush restrooms, and picnic shelters are available for daily usage. A basketball court, baseball, and softball fields are also located in the park. The Marion County Historical Society maintains a historical village at the park, complete with a log cabin, museum, country schoolhouse, church, general store, and stagecoach inn; that are open for display on weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Additionally, the park has a diverse array of scenic backdrops; including, a fishing pier, covered bridge, historical buildings, and natural foliage settings that are utilized by photographers for inspirational, family, and senior class pictures. Locals have known and travelers are learning that Marion County Park is a destination for many recreational enthusiasts.
