NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELL MARION COUNTY PROPERTY

            Marion County will be accepting sealed bids for the property legally known as The North ½ of the South ½ of Lot 2, except the East 40 feet thereof, and the North ½ of Lot 2, all in Block 1 in the Original Town of Knoxville, Iowa, subject to easements and restrictions of record, and locally known as 113-117 South Third Street, Knoxville, Iowa 50138.

            The County is currently accepting sealed bids for the above-mentioned property, with a minimum offering of $40,000.  The transfer of the property will be done by quitclaim deed.  Potential buyers are responsible for the costs of any title search.  Please mail or deliver bids to the Auditor’s Office on the second floor of the Marion County Courthouse located at 214 East Main Street, Knoxville, IA 50138.  Bids should be sealed in an envelope inside the packaging used to mail or deliver the bid and clearly identify it is a bid for the above-mentioned property.

            Bids will be accepted if received on or before 4:30 PM - December 27, 2021 .  The Marion County Board of Supervisors will open the bids at their December 28, 2021 meeting.  If the Board intends to accept a bid, published notice of public hearing will be given before formally adopting a resolution to sell the above- mentioned property as required by Iowa Code.
